Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct
Valley View Public School upholds the belief that every student has the right to an uninterrupted education, accompanied by the equally important responsibility of not impeding this right for any other student.
Our school’s Code of Conduct promotes positive student behaviour, ensuring a supportive learning environment for all. The principles outlined in this Code of Conduct apply consistently and fairly across all aspects of school life, including school activities, board-related matters, and transportation.
All members of the school community are expected to:
- Respect and comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity in academic pursuits and the responsible use of technology.
- Respect differences in people, including their ideas and opinions.
- Treat others with dignity and respect, particularly during disagreements.
- Treat everyone fairly, regardless of characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, or disability.
- Respect the rights of others and school property.
- Provide assistance to those in need.
- Seek peaceful resolution of conflicts, involving school staff when necessary.
- Show respect to all members of the school community, especially those in authority.
- Maintain an environment conducive to learning and teaching.
- Refrain from using inappropriate language or swearing, especially towards teachers or authority figures.
These standards apply to students, staff, parents/guardians, volunteers, and visitors participating in any school activity.
At Valley View Public School, our staff collaborates with students, parents/guardians, and the community to ensure the safety and success of every child. We believe in a proactive, positive discipline approach, clearly defining behaviour expectations throughout the school year and intervening early to prevent issues from escalating.
